The project entails the rehabilitation and upgradation of the Makhu section, near NH-54 in Makhu Town at Design Ch 0+000 (Existing Km 0+000) and extending to Arifke at Design Ch 24+600 (Existing Km 24+740).

It includes the construction of two proposed Road Over Bridges (ROBs): one at LC No. 3-B1/2-E near Padhri village at Design Ch 4+070 and another at LC No. 102-S/2-E near Sudhara village at Design Ch 12+280.

This stretch, which passes through Mallanwala, into a two-lane road with paved shoulders of in-principally approved NH, covering a total project length of 24.6 kilometers. The work is being undertaken in Punjab on an EPC basis.

The construction of both Road Over Bridges (ROBs) has been completed, and the completion certificate is currently in process. These ROBs will facilitate smoother traffic movement, significantly enhance the road’s capacity, and bolster the overall transportation system in the region, providing substantial benefits for local commuters and freight movement alike.
