The project involved the six-laning of the Panipat-Jalandhar section of NH-1 from Km 96 to Km 387.1 in the states of Haryana and Punjab, along with the repair and maintenance of the highway between Km 96 and Km 212. The aim of this project was to facilitate the smoother movement of goods and people between major urban centers and promote trade in the region.
